Will Brooks vs. Alex Oliveira
Most of the action was spent along the fence, as Oliveira looked for a takedown, while Brooks defended. In fact, on two occasions, the latter reversed positions and scored his own TD. After the opening round, commentator Daniel Cormier reported that Brooks told his corner that he had popped a rub. But, Brooks was able to hit a takedown not long into the second frame. Round two featured more grappling action, and Brooks was able to take the back of Oliveira a couple of times and hunted for a rear-naked-choke. Brooks was visibly in pain as a result of a rib injury. Oliveira scored a TD not long into round three and Brooks yelled out in pain. From there, Oliveira eventually moved into sidemount and brought about the stoppage with punches from above.

John Lineker vs. John Dodson
Folks knew that both Dodson and Lineker would be bringing heavy punches tonight, and the bantamweights did just that. The bout mostly featured Lineker as the aggressor, while Dodson was consistently looking to counterstrike. The fight featured several memorable exchanges, and while Dodson appeared to be the quicker of the two, Lineker was able to land more than a few telling shots.
After the competitive fight, Lineker was awarded the split decision win, likely on account of his forward movement throughout.
