Leonard Garcia Replaces Cub Swanson, Fights Jung at WEC 48 in April

Leonard GarciaFormer featherweight challenger Leonard Garcia has been tapped to replace an injured Cub Swanson and fight newcomer Chan Sung Jung on the preliminary card of “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber,” World Extreme Cagefighting’s pay-per-view debut on April 24 in Sacramento, California.

Jung’s manager confirmed the opponent change on Friday to Sherdog, which reports that Swanson pulled out of the bout with a hand injury.

Garcia (13-5-1) fought to a controversial split decision against George Roop at WEC 47 earlier this month, but earned “Fight of the Night” honors for his efforts, while Jung (7-1) bounced back from his first career loss with a second-round submission of Matt Jaggers in Sengoku in August.

WEC 48 is headlined by featherweight champ Jose Aldo vs. former title-holder Urijah Faber, and also features lightweight champ Ben Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone and Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan.
