Former Ultimate Fighter cast members Matt Hamill and Keith Jardine will likely meet in a light heavyweight matchup at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale on June 19 in Las Vegas, with MMAjunkie today reporting that the bout is in the works and expected to be finalized soon.
Hamill (8-2), a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 3 in 2006, rebounded from a September 2008 loss to Rich Franklin with back-to-back wins over Reese Andy and Mark Munoz, but nearly suffered a first-round TKO to Jon Jones in December only to claim a disqualification victory due to illegal elbows, improving his UFC record to 7-2.
After appearing as a heavyweight on TUF 2, Jardine (15-7-1) has gone 6-6 in the UFC, with notable wins over Forrest Griffin, Chuck Liddell, and Brandon Vera, but has most-recently dropped three-straight to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Thiago Silva in 2009 and Ryan Bader in February.
The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale will also feature the finals from TUF 11, and could also include a rematch between Stephan Bonnar and Krzysztof Soszynski.
