Michael Johnson Wants “Big Money” Bout Following Impressive KO Win

Michael Johnson is back in the mix at 155, thanks to his emphatic win at UFC FN 94, and “The Menace” wants a big money fight.

Johnson’s hand speed and power was on full display Saturday, as the lightweight put away Dustin Poirier with a vicious series of punches. It was a huge win for Johnson. Not only did the TUF vet end a two fight losing skid, but Poirier had won four in a row prior to the bout, and was ranked #7.

Well, following the victory, Johnson had this to say about what he wants next, while speaking to FOX Sports 1 (quote via MMA

“Yeah, Anthony Pettis, Khabib if he’s not fighting for the title. Like I said, I want the best of the best in this division and I want the guys at the top. I want big money right now, man. Like I said in the post-fight, Diaz and McGregor made serious dough and I’m trying to put my name on that money and get paid.”

Why¬†did Anthony Pettis get mentioned? Considering he recently moved to 145? Well, after Johnson’s win the former lightweight champ tweeted out that he wants to face either Johnson or Jose Aldo next…

It will be interesting to see who the UFC books for Johnson next. If Eddie Alvarez – Conor McGregor goes down, then could Khabib Nurmagomedov be a possibility? Or how about Edson Barboza? Michael Chiesa? Will those deliver McGregor like cash? No. But if Johnson can go on another run, some big money fights could materialize.

Johnson is currently ranked #10 – that will likely change – and has now gone 3-2 in his last five fights.
