On Friday, Woodley announced on the FS 1, UFC FN 94 weigh-in show that he’s fighting Thompson on November 12th. That’s the date that UFC 205 will go down at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Woodley secured the welterweight title at UFC 201 in July, by bombing out Robbie Lawler. For sometime prior, Thompson argued that he should face Lawler, instead of Woodley. Well, the new champ didn’t care for the comments, and after Woodley took the title, he argued Thompson should go fight Lawler…
Well, obviously that’s not going to happen. Thompson has definitely earned a title shot, as he’s won seven straight and has defeated Johny Hendricks and Rory MacDonald during that time.
Can Woodley end impressive Thompson’s run?
