Since Garbrandt quickly put away Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 202, there’s been plenty of buzz about him fighting the champ Cruz. Part of that is also because the two haven’t had a lot of nice things to say about one another. Of course, Garbrandt isn’t the only contender who’s gunning for a title shot, as former champ TJ Dillashaw is ahead of him in the ranks, as is the aforementioned Caraway.
Well, Caraway’s team has reportedly inquired about fighting Garbrandt, which prompted the latter to say the following, on “The MMA Hour” (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
That’s funny because that dude has turned me down twice,” Garbrandt said. “That guy turned me down twice. He’s a bigger b*tch than Dominick Cruz. He knows that I’m next in line for a title shot, now he wants to keep his name relevant. All these fighters want to throw their name in with me. They want to throw their name in with the best just to get a chance to get in there, because they know I’m the real deal, they know I’m going to be the next champion, they know I’m the big fight.”
