After revealing recently that his current UFC deal was coming to a close, Donald Cerrone has inked a new, multi-fight contract with the promotion.
Cerrone, who is coming off a highlight reel, stoppage win over Rick Story at UFC 202, as signed a new, eight-fight deal with the UFC. News of the contract is being reported by MMA Junkie.com, and Cerrone’s management team has also confirmed he’s inked a new deal.
So, considering Cerrone recently said he had no intention of signing elsewhere, this news isn’t too surprising.
“Cowboy” is one of the UFC’s most popular and best fighters, and obviously they wanted to lock him up long term. Although, considering how often Cerrone fights, this contract might only last, what? Two years? Tops?
