anyone else notice how they make gsp sound like crap compared to hardy?
This type of program makes more bad blood between players. Remember Penn vs GSP!
^^ I agree with both of you.
I think what I don’t understand about Dana’s comments is that he refers to GSP’s stand up as “whole in his game”. Chuck Lidell got ktfo a couple of times, does that make his stand up a “whole in his game”?
Just bugs that Serra, with bases loaded, game 7 of the world series, bottom of the ninth, full count, hits a grandslam to win the championship, or in other words, gets lucky, and now gsp has no stand up…
Did anyone else see how pumped up Alves is to knock Fitch out?
If he hit a grand slam with bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth that sounds clutch to me not lucky.
so stoked for this card i hope mir pisses off carwin. any card that makes a alves and fitch part2 slip my mind has gotta be purtty sick. alves and fitch just might be fight of the night. how sick would it be if gsp made hardy eat his words and got ko of the night.
I wouldn’t put it past GSP to be able to do just that. I do think Hardy has great standup. Marcus Davis and Mike Swick are no easy victories for a striker, but I do believe that GSP has just as good or better boxing than both those guys. GSP definately has better kicks over Davis and Swick and better knees so we might see that, but I think GSP will go to the gigantic gaping hole in Hardy’s game – the Ground.
Dana’a a promoter and when trying to sell PPV’s he has to make out these fights are as 50/50 as possible to garner interest. Hell if he says “GSP is -600 on the betting lines and Hardy’s only hope is to knock him out” which we know to be the case then he’s hardly gonna sell PPV’s to the casual observer.
That was my biggest problem with the 24/7 series in big boxing fights, making every fight seem like a pick em when it rarely was but i understand why it’s done.
If i was GSP listenining to Dana saying his standup “is the hole in his game” i’d try and KTFO out of Hardy, although that’s probably way down on his list when drawing up a game plan.
Me being English i’d like Hardy to put in a decent performance which i think he will but it’s all about the Greatness and i’m one of those that are “hanging off his nuts”.
Sick card overall, can’t wait for the next month’s worth of action. Am tipping up Matt Brown to workover Almeida, decent price too at +135ish.
GSP’s standup looked pretty good against Penn…
watching this just makes me more depressed that i wont be able to watch the fight.
