Versus and DirecTV Reach Deal; WEC, UFC Return for Subscribers

Versus, the cable home of World Extreme Cagefighting that will also broadcast select UFC events beginning this Sunday, is back on DirecTV, after the companies ended an extended standoff on Monday by reaching an agreement on a new deal that will see Versus “return to the same DirecTV programming packages it was in at the end of August 2009″, according to a press release.

In September, Versus and it’s WEC programming were dropped from the satellite provider after they failed to come to terms on a new contract. The dispute has since waged on for months, far longer than originally expected, but a deal has finally been reached, allowing Versus to return to DirecTV in time for Sunday’s “UFC on Versus: Vera vs. Jones” event.
