Anthony Pettis vs. Alex Karalexis, Mackens Semerzier vs. Anthony Morrison In The Works for WEC 48
Following the official addition of four preliminary bouts to “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” on Friday, two more undercard fights are now in the works for World Extreme Cagefighting’s pay-per-view debut on April 24, as Anthony Pettis is expected to take on fellow lightweight Alex Karalexis, while featherweights Mackens Semerzier and Anthony Morrison are also expected to throw down.
The matchups were recently reported by MMAjunkie and MMA Mania.
Pettis (8-1), who replaces an injured Zack Micklewright, rebounded from his first career loss and improved his WEC record to 2-1 with a first-round KO of Danny Castillo earlier this month that earned “Knockout of the Night” honors at WEC 47. A cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 1, Karalexis (10-4) snapped a two-fight losing streak with a victory over Greg McIntyre last March, upping his WEC record to 4-2.
Semerzier (5-1) upset Wagnney Fabiano via first-round submission in his WEC debut in October, but suffered his first career loss to Deividas Taurosevicius at January’s WEC 46. Morrison (15-8) was submitted by former champion Mike Brown in the opening round of his WEC debut in January.
WEC 48 is headlined by featherweight champion Jose Aldo vs. former title-holder Urijah Faber, and also feature lightweight champ Ben Henderson vs. Donald Cerrone and Mike Brown vs. Manny Gamburyan.

I’m really digging the fact that the WEC is going all in on what could probably be their only PPV…
