Will Brooks hasn’t been booked to fight a top ten ranked lightweight in his second UFC bout, but he has been assigned a very, tough test.
Brooks (18-1) is coming off a successful UFC debut, as he worked his way to a UD win over Ross Pearson on July 8th. The American has won nine in a row.
Oliveira (14-4-1) also fought last month and worked his way to a decision win over James Moontasri, July 23rd. The Brazilian is 4-1 in his last 5 bouts, and his only loss during that time came against Donald Cerrone.
So, there you go. Although many likely thought Brooks would fight a higher ranked opponent, “Cowboy” is certainly no joke.
