Antwain BrittLight heavyweights Antwain Britt and Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante are expected to meet on the Showtime-televised main card of Strikeforce’s May 15 event in St. Louis, according to Britt, who recently announced the matchup to MMA Fighting.

Britt (11-3) has gone 7-2 since being eliminated from TUF 8 in mid-2008 due to a broken hand, losing to notables Jamal Patterson and Rodney Wallace, while scoring an 8-second KO of Antonio Mendes last May in Shine Fights and a Strikeforce debut victory over Scott Lighty in December in his most-recent fight.

“Feijao” (8-2), a former EliteXC standout, had a three-fight win streak snapped in a Strikeforce debut loss to Mike Kyle last June, but rebounded with a second-round TKO of Aaron Rosa in November.

Strikeforce’s May 15 event has yet to be officially announced, but is expected to be headlined by the return of heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem vs. Brett Rogers and is also reported to include Andrei Arlovski vs. Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva.

This is shaping up to be a great card that Strikeforce is putting together. I can’t wait to see how this card fills out. I will keep my fingers crossed that no one gets injured.

Sometimes I feel like I’m carrying Showtime on my cable system to keep Brett Rogers from having to go back to work at Sams Club…

      That’s cold man.

        Actually, I was only half-serious.
I’ve been carrying Showtime for a long while now, to support the sport in general and now Strikeforce in particular.
And I’ll continue to do so as long as I see Scott Coker making a consistent and honest effort to bring the best MMA fights he possibly can to the fanbase, which IMO he’s doing here with Britt and Cavalcante.
Trust me, if I didn’t drop Showtime when Coker signed Fedor, I’m sure as sh!t not dropping it over some shady matchmaking like Overeem-Rogers…

I think this fight will be a good addition to this card, I’m definitely interested in seeing how it turns out.
