With the debut of The Ultimate Fighter 11 slated for March 31, the UFC and Spike TV have already begun working on the next installment of the reality series, announcing today that open tryouts for The Ultimate Fighter 12 will be held on April 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the day after “UFC Fight Night 21: Florian vs. Gomi” is held in the city.
TUF 12 will feature lightweight (155-pound) and light heavyweight (205-pound fighters) fighters, who must be 21-years old or over and have at least three professional fights to participate in the tryouts, which will be held at The Omni Charlotte Hotel starting at 10am ET.

I can see the advert now:
“Wanted: more weight-appropriate victims for BJ Penn. Unfortunately he’s already buzzsawed thru the last group we rounded up for him”…
;)
LOL
They Need To Do One Welter Weight And Middleweight. Get Some New And Upcoming Fighters In That Division.
thats going to be saved for next season.. there is still contenders in MW and WW, such as Kos, dirty Diego(maybe), and fitch(boooo), Belfort, Maia and a Chael.. even Nate The Great is still a contender.. and i think Sexyama and Wand are possible contenders.. while LW has almost no contenders
Season 11 is middleweight.
they need 2 do another heavyweight show its only been on the tuf twice
Oh hell no! I don’t care to see more ex-NFL players getting gassed after 30 seconds. LHW and below is what they need to stick with. If Kimbo would not have been on the last HW TUF, the ratings would have be horrible.
This last season of TUF was pretty…substandard…to put it politely, so I’m thinking it will be awhile before we see a houseful of 300 pounders plodding their way thru medicore fights and harsh reviews…
personally i would like to see Bantamweights and Featherweights on TUF.. but that would only happen if UFC and WEC finally merge
Well, there is talk of the WEC doing a “TUF” based reality show of their own in the future.
That makes a lot of sense for the WEC.
Versus has already shown a willingness to air reality-type stuff, with the Contender Asia series, so I’m sure something MMA-related, especially with opposing coaches like Miguel Torres and Urijah Faber, would be a ratings magnet…
If Faber loses that would make a lot of sense. That would be a great catch weight fight. could do like a 140lbs fight
