UFC on Versus 1 Fight Card Set for “Vera vs. Jones” on March 21

After a matchup between middleweight sluggers Alessio Sakara and James Irvin finished the main card for “UFC on Versus: Vera vs. Jones” on Tuesday, the March 21 fight card in Broomfield, Coloradio is now complete following the official addition of Duane “Bang” Ludwig vs. Darren Elkins to the event’s preliminary card.
Light heavyweights Brandon Vera and Jon Jones square off in the main event of the UFC’s Versus debut, which also includes Junior Dos Santos vs. Gabriel Gonzaga and Paul Buentello vs. Cheick Kongo.

Yeah i’m going to this. Hopefully Vera gets his arse handed to him. Too bad alot of fighters got injured on this card and they couldn’t set another big name match up, but oh well its just part of the game.
This is four great fights. Too bad I don’t get Versus.

Will vera be cut from UFC if he loses?
Hard to say about the Vera cut thing.
Normally I would say yes, another loss = cut, but at one time Vera was the UFC poster boy in the Phillipines, an area in which Dana and the Fertitas were at one time interested in holding events.
We haven’t heard much about that in awhile, and with the emergence of fighters like Mark Munoz, Vera’s value might have dropped within the org.
If I had to go on record with an answer, I’d say that HOW Vera loses is as important than IF he loses.
If its close, or some sort of wonky judges decision or a ref screw-up, then he’ll probably get one final chance, especially if the UFC Pacific effort is back on after the trip down under.
If he gets tooled like Matt Hamill did, or comes to the cage unprepared physically and/or mentally for 15 minutes of Jon Jones, or the org decides that Australia or possibly South Korea is looking better than the Phillipines, then Vera’s probably going to have to start looking for work elsehwere…
vera shouldn’t get cut if he loses his still very good fighter.. fight aganist couture he should’ve won. or shoud be split decison

I really dont understand why people are bigging up John Jones’s chances so much. i started a post in the forums a while ago and i just cant see how jones is going to beat Vera. Stand up wise yeh Jones mite be flashy, unorthodox and good to watch on the eye but he is not the same level of striker that Vera is in my opinion at all. Wrestling wise Jones does have an advantage but the advantage is less than the differnce in striking ability, vera trained at the USA olympic centre is is a very well versed Greco wrestler along with alot better understnading of jui jitsu ability and ranking. I really want John Jones to go all the way to the top and his talent seems awesome but hes not as a complete dangerous fighter as Vera is in my opinion. Vera by Uananimous Decision and with odds of 2/1 i shall be putting my money where my mouth is for him to win.
Just wait and see…………it’s going to be like Cain vs Nog match. Lot of ppl rooted for Nog and we saw what came out!

I’m actually a fan of both fighters, although I think Vera’s got this one. UNLESS bones gets lucky.
well, both fighters are great! Streght wise, I go for Jones but Technical wise its The Truth! Lets just wait and see…. I hope Vera wins this but I’m feeling, its Jones…
vera bettered couture who is a good prep for at least some aspects of jones. vera has the skills and know how to win. jones best testr yet i imagine. a lot will depend on how bad BV wants it
