On the same day the Nevada State Athletic Commission disclosed that Jon Jones has allegedly tested positive for estrogen blockers, the decorated fighter took to Twitter to repeat his claim of innocence.

Just a couple of days out from his scheduled rematch with Daniel Cormier, Jones was pulled from the bout and UFC 200, after he was notified of a potential anti-doping violation. The NSAC held a meeting yesterday, and during it, the organization reported that Jones tested positive for the  anti-estrogenic substance Hydroxy-clomiphene and the aromatase inhibitor, Letrozole metabolite.

Since Jones was removed from UFC 200, the 29 year-old star has said he never knowingly took performance enhancing drugs. On Monday, he repeated that claim via Twitter.

Jones also reported that he’s sent “products” to the lab for testing. Unless Jones and his team can prove that supplements he took were tainted with banned substances, without his knowledge, then the interim light-heavyweight champ could be suspended for two years.

As it stands right now, the Jackson – Wink MMA fighter is temporarily suspended by the Nevada Commission. It’s going to be fascinating to see how this all plays out.

Jones laid claim to the interim belt this past April, by earning a unanimous decision win over Ovince Saint Preux. Jones and Cormier fought for the first time in January, 2015, and the latter lost the bout via UD.
