If you do the math, then you know Dana White is making out huge from the UFC’s recent sale, since he’s believed to have owned 9% of the promotion. Well, according to a new report, the UFC President is also going to collect 9% of the UFC’s profits, over the next five years (cue cash drawer sound).
Sources have told ESPN that White is set to receive 9% of the UFC’s profits, and that White’s deal will end in five years. This follows the recent news that the UFC has been sold to WME – IMG (and their partners). The acquisition is believed to have cost $4 billion. So, if White held 9% of the UFC, then he has around $360 million heading his way from the sale. Wow.
Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta bought the UFC back in 2001 for $2 million. The brothers will retain a small stake with the UFC, but will not be involved in day-to-day operations.
