Following Bisping’s KO win over Luke Rockhold last month, a campaign was launched to have the newly crowned, middleweight champ fight Henderson next. Henderson isn’t currently ranked in the top 10, but since the legend scored one of the most violent KOs over Bisping in UFC history, it’s a bout fans want to see.
Well, during the post-UFC 200, FOX Sports show, UFC President Dana White had this to say (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“We’re going to do Dan Henderson versus Michael Bisping,” White said. “It’s a fight that the champ wants. It’s a fight that the fans want. And hopefully in Manchester. We’re thinking about doing it in Manchester, England. But that’s not signed yet.”
The purists aren’t going to like it, but really, no one should be surprised to hear this. It’s a big fight, and those typically get booked over the ‘right’ fight.
