George Roop, Leonard Garcia, Anthony Pettis, and Joseph Benavidez each earned $10,000 “fight night” bonuses for their performances at Saturday’s “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz,” the promotion announced at the event’s post-fight press conference.
WEC 47, headlined by bantamweight champ Brian Bowles vs. Dominick Cruz, drew 8,345 fans to the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, which is likely to host another WEC event next March.
Roop and Garcia fought to a rare split draw on the WEC 47 preliminary card after Roop lost a point for a low blow in the final frame, but their exciting showdown earned the pair of UFC veterans “Fight of the Night” honors.
Pettis scored “Knockout of the Night” with a first-round head kick KO of Danny Castillo that made the event’s Versus broadcast, edging out Ricardo Lamas’ knockout of Bendy Casimir that opened the WEC 47 card.
Scott Jorgensen’s brutal 31-second guillotine choke of Chad George on the WEC 47 prelims was an early front-runner for “Submission of the Night,” but bantamweight contender Jospeh Benavidez stole the award with a guillotine of his own, upsetting former champ Miguel Torres in the second-round of the WEC 47 co-headliner.

Lamas should have won KO of the night.. he kneed casmir into next year.. and sub of the night should have went to jorgensen.. Jorgensens guillotine was was sicker than he who should not be named..
I think you are correct. Lamas should have gotten KO of the night. You dont see mouth pieces fly that high very often.
Highly agree on both points fine sir
Jorgensen’s guillotine should be like a bonus finish for characters if they ever make a WEC game…
Yeah, when you have JoeLauzon tweet, “Just saw a submission that I didn’t think worked in MMA with gloves on. I stand corrected!” from the UFC twitter account, you’ve accomplished something.
