Daniel Cormier laid claim to the UFC’s light-heavyweight title by submitting Anthony Johnson, and defended it by decisioning Alexander Gustafsson, but for many, he’s not the real champ. Why? Because he has yet to defeat Jon Jones – the consensus greatest 205’er of all time (and “DC” was decisioned by “Bones” in January, 2015).
Well, recently Cormier spoke with “Inside MMA“, and while doing so, he explained why he “relates” to Evander Holyfield. If you’re an old school boxing fan, then you know Holyfield struggled to capture widespread recognition, until he defeated “Iron” Mike Tyson.
