Bellator Dynamite 2: “Rampage” Jackson Decisions Satoshi Ishii, Michael Chandler Scores Brutal KO

Rampage Jackson

“Rampage” Jackson wasn’t able to score a highlight reel win in his Bellator return, but he did work his way to a decision win over Satoshi Ishii.

The Japanese Judoka and former Olympic Gold Medalist took the fight down early on, but Ishii was unable to capitalize on the position. For the remainder of the fight, Jackson landed more strikes in the clinch, as well as some ground-and-pound shots in round three. After the bout, Jackson was awarded the split decision win.

Jackson was fighting under the Bellator banner for the first time since 2014.

Michael Chandler reclaimed the promotion’s lightweight belt, as he quickly blasted Patrick “Pitbull” with a massive right hand, and that was that. The bout was for the vacant 155 title. Chandler and “Pitbull” fought once before in 2011, and the latter lost via decision.

And, Matt Mitrione earned a victory in his Bellator debut, barely. Carl Seumanutafa decked Mitrione not long into the bout, and appeared to be moments away from earning the finish. Mitrione recovered, however, and managed to gain top position. From there, the heavy handed fighter cracked Seumanutafa with a right hand and finished the fight.

Tonight’s event went down at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
