Following the news that Chad Mendes has been notified by USADA of a potential anti-doping violation, the featherweight contender hadn’t said anything publicly, until Saturday.
Earlier this month, the UFC and USADA announced that Mendes has been flagged; however, no specific details regarding the notification were disclosed. While it remains to be seen what’s going to happen next, Mendes recently tweeted out the following comment:
I didn't do my homework and that was a big mistake. I own it and I'm going to pay for it.

The 31 year-old fighter is coming off consecutive stoppage losses to Conor McGregor and Frankie Edgar. Mendes hasn’t been scheduled for a bout since his loss to Edgar in December.
