Follow reports last weekend that Nate Diaz had a bit of a ‘disagreement’ with the Guida brothers last weekend at UFC 199, Team Alpha Male coach, Justin Buchholz, has described what went down.
Clay Guida took on Brian Ortega that night, and appeared to be en route to a win, when the latter bombed him out with a third round, knee. Well, according to Buchholz, shortly after that things got heated with Diaz backstage. During a recent episode of Stud Show Radio the TAM coach relayed the following (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“Clay said something to him, but Clay was discombobulated at that time,” Buchholz said. “He just said something to Nate. He was all like, ‘Man, I’m gonna f*ck you up again’ or something like that.”
“Then f*cking Jason (Guida) and Nate got into it,” Buchholz added. “I don’t know what happened, but Jason bull rushes Nate and tries to put him up against the wall. Nate has got him in a clinch. Like 50 people from the UFC come rushing into this thing. I’m standing in the middle like, ‘No!'”
There you have it. Any bigtime or old school fan knows that Diaz, and yes, his brother Nick, have been involved in a few of these over the years. For example, last August it was reported that they got into it with Khabib Nurmagomedov at a World Series of Fighting event.
All this aside, Diaz is booked to rematch Conor McGregor at UFC 202 on August 20th. The latter was submitted by Diaz in round two at UFC 196 in March. That fight is going to be hee-uge.
Guida, meanwhile, has now lost three of his last five fights. Prior to facing Ortega he was submitted by Thiago Tavares last November.
