Ortiz Backs Out Due to Money

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has backed out of a proposed bout against UFC president Dana White.

From the LA Times:

“…one organization source said Ortiz was seeking more compensation for an unofficial event that was so intriguing to mixed-martial arts fans that cable network Spike TV had planned to air preview and fight shows in April.”

Tito Ortiz originally wanted this bout added to his contract and now he asks for money (more?) just to do it. I think this entire thing should have been cancelled from the go if you ask me. Sure it would have been great to see the two go toe-to-toe but for all the grief it’s caused the NSAC, the UFC, and the media I highly doubt it’s been worth it.

The article also states that White and Ortiz will not be “commenting” so I wouldn’t expect this to resurface very much (unless of course they say something).
