A matchup between former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia and five-time “World’s Strongest Man” Mariusz Pudzianowski is scheduled to headline an April 23 event in Worcester, Massachusetts near Boston, according to the Boston Herald.
The card, co-promoted by Eric “Butterbean” Esch and Korean-based promotion Moosin, is also slated to include UFC veterans Rich Clementi, Yves Edwards, and Houston Alexander.
Sylvia (25-6) hasn’t fought since snapping a three-fight losing streak, which included an 9-second knockout to Ray Mercer, with a first-round TKO of Jason Riley. Another fight also awaits “The Maine-iac,” as a rematch with fellow UFC veteran Wes Sims, turned down for March in Ohio, is now expected to take place on June 5 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Pudzianowski (1-0) made his MMA debut in December, forcing former boxer Marcin Najman to submit to strikes in just 43-seconds.

Not only is there little to no likelihood that Pudzianowski would ever step in against Lesnar due to the weightclass requirements and skillset gap, but weighing 320+ pounds and agreeing to fight someone like Tim Sylvia is a pretty clear indication that Pudzianowski will probably be facing guys like Bob Sapp [for hefty payouts] in Japan by year’s end…
or maybe they’ll have a triple threat match with Barnett ;)

he would def not beat brock but i think he was sayin tht as far as strength goes he would throw him around. because mariusz is def stronger than brock. hes also bigger. but brock is better. if mariusz got some more training tho and brock would agree to fight him in the future it would be interesting. and btw hes got a good chance at beating sylvia i promise you tht. wait and see.

Did Sylvia do something so egregious to you, besides pouring his heart and soul into MMA during its relative infancy, that deserves being booed?
his low kicks looked pretty nasty and came in quick enough succession that buddy there couldn’t regain balane and exit in time.
and he had a killer instinct. it’s a tough one for sylvia as if he loses he’ll get dissed, and no credit if he wins because of his lack of mma record. can’t wait to see this guy fight – you can yell freak show but anytime somebody has something that no else has done before it’s exciting to watch. whether it’s seeing him get picked apart or subbed – or taking brock-N-pound to a new level. i don’t think he’d match well with cain, fedor or gonzaga or dos Santos but tim sylvia better be on high alert for this guy
what’s the point of a 265 lb limit anyway ?- seems arbitrary, no?
in the past , esp. before brock the extra weight seemed like a handicap. brock won’t have the cardio of cain ever but he makes guys work really hard and seems to nullify the cardio disadvantage. Pudski actually looked good with the jumprope – not sure if was just good video editing.

Pudz couldn’t fight Lesnar unless he met the 265 pound limit. Somehow, I don’t think Pudz would be so scary at 265 against Lesnar. I think Lesnar would man handle the Pudz and show him what wrestling is all about. Cain, Carwin, Mir…IT JUST DOESN’T MATTER!!!

if sylvia loses it’ll be because Pudski closed the distance nullified the reach and striking and/or took it to the mat.
Sylvia has a great chin, and a couple of stiff jabs could be followed up by Sylvia KOing Pudski. While I wouldn’t try to pick a winner, either way It’ll likely get stopped in the first round .

Possibly we’re getting confused by the difference between Pudzianowski’s competitive weightlifting bodyweight and his competitive MMA bodyweight.
If the man can actually make 265 I’m sure someone will give him an opportunity, but the UFC might be a bit of a stretch…
Kevguy201 i was just about to post the exact same thing, in his prime competing at the worlds strongest man events he weighed around the 320lbs mark, but he said he lost necessary size and weight to be able to dedicate himself to fighting which as you stated was around the 275-280lbs mark. Hes a reasonably intelligent man from what ive seen and said its pointless being strong if he doesnt have the cardio to back it up. Him making the 265 lbs limit i personally dont see as a problem, you have to remember in strong man he trained like a beast, during competition time his diet would have been rediculously strict so if he maybe trains hard and does what he says he will the hype of this monster may not be to far from the truth.
I just don’t see him being able to be active for a full 3 rounds (let alone 5) with that much muscle mass. His body would turn into a lactic acid factory. If he’s going to beat the jolly green giant, he’s going to have to stay on the inside, take him down, and ground-n-pound his way to a KO or ref stoppage.
I’m from Poland so i know that Pudzianowski will not fight against Sylvia because of some financial problems and maybe next Pudzianowski fight in the future on KSW13 with some guy who name’s we get know on 8ht March’s. In my opinion Pudzian is a great strongman, he has a great condition with his weight and very good speed, we know that he trained karate kyokushin by 11 years and some boxing. But we have never seen Pudzian on the ground, so maybe after KSW13 Pudzian can have chance with guy like Sylvia.

Pudzian’s natural weight is 320 lbs but he can cut to 265 but only for particular fight. I prefer him +320 lbs with the same speed and cardio.
Tim Silva will be beaten and next Brock Lesnar then champion fight with Fedor Emenalienko. this is posssible scenaro of Pudz career.
Heres the thing….anyone who grows up in poland (and i mean anyone) already has developed skills in fighting..u get in fights on a weekly basis just by walking to the grocery store so enough about the talk that Pudzian cant fight. Tim will have a chance if he lands a few good shots at the beginning of the fight, thats about it. If Mariusz gets his hands( or legs) on him, timmy is done, no chance. Ya he has good take down defense but theres not much u can do when THE STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD is trying to throw u around. my fiance’s polish, and i’ve been to poland 15 times. i only got into one fight and i floored the guy first punch. so to say that he’s going to win because all polish guys can fight is obviously a load of crap. i know, and the guy i knocked out knows this too!!
i think mariusz is going to kill silvia though, i was at the najman fight, and i have never seen a guy get kicked across the ring so hard before. jeez, he didnt even put everything into that kick and najman flew across the ring. i dont think his cardio work will let him down though, strongman contests arent just about pure strength, there are a lot of stamina events as well.
One small thing. “Dominator” is a 5 time stronger guy in the world, but also starts karate and boxing when he was 12. His debut – Najman almost die. He is expirienced in street fighting, so he`s not a virgin. And always when start something, he must be the best. There is a future for him in MMA and UFC
This is gonna be a massacre. Once Pudzian gets into killer zone poor Timmy gonna start running away like crazy. Pudzian leg kicks is like a sledge hammer hitting you, it will take Silvas feet away. Once he is on floor Pudzian will keep swinging on him which feels like jackhammer on u lol…. I dont see Pudzian get submitted because he can pick up 4 times+ weight of Silvia. Only bad thing for Pudzian is that his chin was never tested and u know when u get hit there and shock hits the brain it doesnt matter how much muscle u got.
Anyone who thinks Mariusz doesn’t have the stamina to cope with a few rounds, is mental. you can’t have seen him in action in WSM… he was/is the fittest strongman of them all, and anybody needs to be at least reasonably fit to cope in WSM. Just because someone has stacks of muscle it doesn’t automatically make them an unfit bag of cement who can’t fight. If he’s spent his life running around with huge objects, I’m sure he can cope a few rounds with his own body-weight.
