Luke Rockhold reported back in April that he was recovering from a torn MCL, and referred to it as a “small setback”, but today he revealed his training camp has been significantly impacted.
The UFC held a press conference today in advance of UFC 199 on Saturday, which will feature Rockhold taking on Michael Bisping. During the presser, which featured the middleweights hurling verbal shots at one another, Rockhold revealed that he’s “been dealing with a knee injury”.
The well rounded fighter also said that as a result of a torn MCL, he hasn’t been able to grapple all camp. Rockhold also claimed that he only began drilling kicks last week as a result of the injury.
So, obviously this presents a whole other angle to this Saturday’s bout. Bisping, as you know, took the fight on short notice after Chris Weidman recently went down with a knee injury.
Saturday’s card will be hosted by the Forum in Los Angeles.
