Not long after the UFC reported Fabricio Werdum will face Ben Rothwell on September 10th, the promotion has confirmed another pivotal, heavyweight fight.
Yes, the promotion has announced that Andrei Arlovski will take on Josh Barnett, September 3rd, at the UFC’s first ever card in Hamburg, Germany. The upcoming event will be hosted by the Barclaycard Arena.
Arlovski (25-12) is in need of a win, as the former heavyweight champ has been stopped by Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem in his last two fights. Prior to that, however, “The Pitbull” had won six in a row.
Barnett (34-8) is also on the hunt for a victory, as the accomplished vet was submitted by Ben Rothwell in January. Before that “The Warmaster” outscored Roy Nelson for the unanimous decision victory in September. The former champ has gone 3-2 in his last 5 scraps.
The UFC also confirmed that the expected light-heavyweight fight between Ryan Bader (20-5) and Ilir Latifi (12-4) will be part of the September 3rd, UFC FN 93 card.
