All twenty-four fighters scheduled to be in action at tomorrow’s “Strikeforce Challengers 6: Kaufman vs. Hashi” in San Jose, California today made weight, including headliners Sarah Kaufman and Takayo Hashi, who vie for the first-ever Strikeforce women’s welterweight (135-pound) championship.
The Showtime-televised main card also features Trevor Prangley vs. Karl Amoussou, Luke Rockhold vs. Paul Bradley, James Terry vs. Tarec Saffiedine, and Raul Castillo vs. Yancy Medeiros

Love these challenger series cards ….
Agreed.
And everytime one drops, I keep wondering when the UFC will wake up and smell the opportunity, and leave off airing decade-old PRIDE fights we all have either seen, own on DVD, or can key up on YouTube…
I love the PRIDE fights and will probably watch them every time that they come on. I mean heck, they already own the rights to the footage why not showcase it? With that being said, I was hoping that the new “UFC on Versus” was going to take on a similar format where they showcase “up and comers”, but it seems like it will be another Ultimate Fight Night type of program. Oh well…
I too like the “Best of Pride” show, because I did not in fact see most of them, nor do I own the DVDs, nor do I have any interest in searching for individual fights to watch on low quality youtube videos on my 19″ computer monitor when I can just DVR the “Best of Pride” and watch it on my 36″ TV in much better quality.
I guess its not so much that I have anything against the old PRIDE fights, its just that I’d rather see young, up and coming UFC fighters getting airtime and more opportunities than guys that have already made their mark, such as Wand, Shogun, CroCop, etc, and are for the most part at or near the end of their careers.
So many unaired prelim fights featuring so many talented UFC guys seem to go to waste so that we can see Wand kick the sh!t out of some guy for like the tenth time, so, y’know…
Go figure, I too really enjoy the Challengers series presented by Strikeforce, I will not be able to attend this event (due to my schedule) but I will find a way to view it… Next month is Challengers series 7 in my hometown and I will be attending that one live and in person, the events are affordable and honestly just really good MMA, hell com’on floor tickets for under a hundred bucks you can’t even get you a GSP Fathead for that… O another thing 3 outta 7 challengers events will have been held in Fresno after March 26 that’s pretty cool honestly, and I too enjoy the best of PRIDE show it is a nice way to spend an hour on Friday
Well, I finally got showtime added to my cable package last month so it looks like I’ll be ordering a pizza and getting crunk while watching Women’s MMA history…is it bad that I’m looking forward to spending a Friday night by myself and ditching my friends?
