Barring an unlikely run of losses, it looks like Matt Brown’s going to be with the UFC for quite a while, as the rugged vet has reportedly signed a new, eight fight deal with the promotion.

FOX Sports.com reported the news of Brown’s lengthy contract, which was finalized the same week it was announced “The Immortal” will fight Jake Ellenberger on July 30th.

The 35 year-old Brown is coming off a submission loss to Demian Maia at UFC 198 earlier this month. The noted finishes has gone 7-3 in his last 10 fights, and his only other losses during that time came against current welterweight champ Robbie Lawler, and former champ, Johny Hendricks.

Brown, who submitted Tim Means before facing Maia, is currently ranked #8 at 170.
