Stipe Miocic has been booked for his first fight as the UFC’s heavyweight champ, and he’s going to be enjoying some hometown support when it goes down.
The bout’s been announced less than two weeks after Miocic KO’d Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 to become the heavyweight king. With the win, Miocic moved his record to 15-2.
Overeem took out Andrei Arlovski at UFC FN 87 earlier this month, and called for a title shot. The Netherlands fighter is riding a four fight winning streak, and carries a record of 41-14.
So, that’s a pretty nice move by the UFC no? Huge news for Cleveland fans. Will Miocic send them home happy?
