Recently word came that Anderson Silva has been forced out of UFC 198, and now it’s being reported that Dennis Siver has been forced to drop out of his UFC 199 scrap with BJ Penn.

Recently Penn informed BJ Penn.com that Siver has withdrawn from their June 4th bout due to injury. The legendary fighter reported that the UFC informed him Siver has been sidelined, and that the promotion is looking for a new opponent.

Siver (22-11) is coming off consecutive defeats to Tatsuya Kawajiri and Conor McGregor.

Penn (16-10-2) hasn’t fought since 2014 when he was taken out by Frankie Edgar. The former lightweight and welterweight champ decided to come out of retirement a couple of months ago, and has been training for his return at Jackson – Wink MMA in Albuquerque.

UFC 199 will be hosted by the Forum in Los Angeles. In the main event, middleweight champ Luke Rockhold will battle Chris Weidman.
