Jones outscored Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197 on Saturday, who was stepping in for the injured Cormier on short notice. It was reported that Cormier – Jones II would be rebooked for July 9th if the fighters were healthy, and today the UFC announced the rematch will go down on that date.
Jones banged up his foot in his scrap with OSP, but the former champ must be good to go. “Bones” and “DC” fought for the first time in January, 2015. Jones handed his rival a unanimous decision loss, and the first and only defeat of his career.
UFC 200 will also feature Jose Aldo versus Frankie Edgar for the interim title, and bantamweight champ Miesha Tate taking on Amanda Nunes.
