Dennis Hallman Returning to Lightweight, Plans to Fight at UFC 114 or UFC 115
Veteran Dennis Hallman will return to the 155-pound lightweight division after suffering a third-round knockout to welterweight John Howard in his return to the UFC in December.
“I just got into phenomenal shape and I can’t keep on weight,” Hallman recently told MMAjunkie. “I was weighing 167 pounds (before the fight) and I was literally drinking water while I was waiting to weigh-in for John Howard.”
In his matchup with Howard, Hallman (39-13-2) won the first two rounds before suffering come-from-behind KO with just 5-seconds remaining in the bout, which snapped a four-fight win streak.
Hallman said he plans on returning this summer at UFC 114 (May 29 – Las Vegas) or UFC 115 (June 12 – Vancouver), but has yet to receive an official date or opponent for his next fight from the UFC.

I’m thinking this is one Matt Hughes would like to have another shot at.
Probably, but its not like Hughes needs to gNp out a win against Hallman to cement his place as one of the all-time greats, and a surefire entrant into the UFC Hall of Fame…
I’d think the drop down to LW is to avoid a third match with Hughes. Though he beat him twice, Hallman hasn’t exactly excelled against top, or even mediocre fighters.
Worst head placement for a weigh-in commish, ever.
