Evans was taken out by Teixeira’s heavy hands in less than two minutes on Saturday, marking the second time in a row he’s been defeated, since he returned to the Octagon last October (following two knee surgeries).
Jones faced Evans back in 2012 and earned a UD win, following the latter’s well documented departure from Jackson-Wink MMA. The two had a beef at the time, but since then they’ve appeared to be on much better terms.
Following last night’s card, Jones was asked for his take on Evans’ defeat, and the former light-heavyweight champ tweeted:

Jones is scheduled to fight Ovince Saint Preux for the interm 205 title at UFC 197 on Saturday.
