A bout between undefeated light heavyweight prospects is in the works for UFC 112, as Phil Davis, fresh off his successful UFC debut at UFC 109, is expected to return to action against Alexander Gustafsson on April 10 in Abu Dhabi, MMAFrenzy.com has confirmed with a source close to Gustafsson.
Davis (5-0), an four-time All-American and 2008 NCAA champion wrestler at Penn State, earned a unanimous decision over former WEC champ Brian Stann last Saturday, while Gustafsson (9-0) debuted in November with a 41-second knockout of Jared Hamman to improve to 9-0.
“UFC 112: Invincible” is headlined by UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva vs. Demian Maia and lightweight champ BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar, and also includes Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie.
