Dan Henderson is no longer fighting Lyoto Machida at UFC on FOX 19 this weekend, but the legend will reportedly face Hector Lombard at UFC 199 in June.
As you’ve almost certainly heard by now, Machida has been pulled from Saturday’s card in Tampa, after he informed USADA that he was taking a banned substance. The former light-heavyweight champ claims he did not know he was taking a prohibited product.
Well, since Machida’s short term future is up in the air, the UFC has reportedly booked Henderson to fight Lombard in a middleweight scrap on June 4th. The bout was reported first by Sherdog.com. and MMA Junkie has also confirmed with “Hendo” that the fight is a go.
Henderson is looking to get back on track after he was taken out by Vitor Belfort, and Lombard was stopped by welterweight contender Neil Magny in his last outing.
So, that’s a very interesting addition to UFC 199 no? The upcoming card will go down at the Forum in Los Angeles. In the main event, middleweight champ Luke Rockhold will take on former champ Chris Weidman.
