Cyrille Diabate Signs With UFC, Debuts Against Luiz Cane at UFC 114

Cyrille DiabateLight heavyweight Cyrille Diabate has signed a four-fight deal with the UFC and will debut against Luiz Cane on May 29 at UFC 114 in Las Vegas.

Diabate’s agent, Ken Pavia, confirmed the matchup with MMA Fighting on Friday, while MMAjunkie reports that the bout will take place at UFC 114 instead of UFC 113 as originally reported.

Diabate (15-6-1) has won five-straight and 9 of his last 10, including first-round submissions in his most-recent fights in October and December, while Cane (10-2-1) had won three-straight over Jason Lambert, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, and Steve Cantwell before losing to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in November. He was also the Muay-Thai instructor for Team United States under Dan Henderson on “The Ultimate Fighter: US vs. UK”.

UFC 114 coincides with the second UFC Fan Expo and is expected to featured Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Rashad Evans and Forrest Griffin vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.
