“Rampage” Jackson finally has a date and opponent for his next fight, as Bellator has announced that the star will take on Satoshi Ishii, June 24th. The fight will headline “Dynamite 2″, which will go down on June 24th at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
The upcoming bout will be contested at a catch-weight of 215 pounds.
Jackson (36-11) will be fighting for the first time since last April, when he decisioned Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186. At the time, Jackson was still involved in a contract dispute with Bellator, and it wasn’t until this past February, it was announced he was returning to the Viacom promotion.
The former UFC light-heavyweight champ has won four straight fights.
If your MMA diet is completely limited to the UFC, then you may not know who Ishii (14-5-1) is. Well, the latter is a former Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo, who has primarily fought in his native Japan.
Ishii is 2-3 in his last 5 fights, and two of those losses came against Mirko “Cro Cop”.
So, there you go. No other bouts have been announced yet for the MMA – kickboxing hybrid event.
