Not only has the UFC finally confirmed that Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor will throw down for a second time at UFC 200, but the promotion’s announced that Jose Aldo will face Frankie Edgar for the interim 145 title that same night…That sounds about right no?
Yes, for a little while now, an announcement regarding Diaz – McGregor II has been expected, and as reported, the fight will be contested at 170 pounds. It will headline UFC 200, which will take place on July 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The possibility of another bout between Aldo and Edgar had certainly been raised, since no one really knows that the future holds for McGregor. So, obviously this could set up a fight between either man and McGregor at some point. Aldo, as you likely know, decisioned Edgar in 2013.
The UFC has also announced the following fights for UFC 200: Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne, Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson, Joe Lauzon vs. Diego Sanchez, Johny Hendricks vs. Kelvin Gastelum and Takanori Gomi vs. Jim Miller.
There you go. UFC 200 is shaping up to be quite the event.
