As we reported on Tuesday, Martin Kampmann was forced to withdraw from his matchup with Ben Saunders scheduled for UFC 111 on March 27 in Neward due to a cut over his eye. Though previous reports confirmed it was suffered in training and required stitches, Kampman today posted a picture of the gash on Twitter and it is nasty. Check out the pic:
Kampmann hopes to return to the Octagon in May.

I accidently did that to a buddy of mine in training, that’s one of the downsides to using 4oz because of the edge on the glove.
I’m sure you’re right, especially considering my level of stand-up experience.
All jokes aside, it looked to me like maybe Kampmann got headbutted in training, but maybe he got Abe Wagner’ed.

Well you and I know how it is w/ cuts, you get a slight one and then you catch a blunt object, like a head or glove straight on and a cut becomes a massive gash

I mean wtf that is not from a light sparring seshion with 16 oz gloves on and a head guard, looks more like a laceration from a sharp object, that is seriously f**ked up, thats gunna take alot of time to heal and also leave some nasty scar tissue that im sure will open up very easily in the future :(
