If you missed it on Monday, the New York State Assembly has passed a bill (finally), which calls for the legalization of pro MMA in the jurisdiction. Up next, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo will need to sign off on the bill to sanction the sport, but since he’s publicly supported MMA previously, it’s not expected to be an issue.
So, the UFC could be headed to Madison Square Garden in NYC before the year is up.
Following the awesome news, former middleweight champ Chris Weidman posted the following comments and clip…
I've waited a long time for today and couldn't be more excited to have MMA legal in my hometown of New York!! pic.twitter.com/uoxIpPbcQ4
