Awesome! I’m so excited for this card!! Cannot wait to see Alves/Fitch 2!!

Am I right in thinking this will be an early afternoon show for fans watching in the uk?

  • Brent says:

So what do you think? If Fitch beats Alves does he get the next title shot? Or does he only get it if he wins in decisive fasion? Or does the Winner of Dayley vs. Kos get the next shot?

This looks like an awesome night of fights and i cant wait. Hopefully GSP, aka Greatness, can finish this fight like he wants to. I mean i have no problem seeing a 5 round domination but it would be nice to see a finish.

    • Justin says:

I think the winner of Kos v. Daley is the most likely next challenger. Fitch might get considered again if he does something impressive against Alves, but if he does his standard “grind out a decision” routine he will continue to along the non-title path he’s been on. Then there’s the obvious possibility that Alves will win, in which case, he needs at least another W before he gets a shot.

      • Brent says:

This is very true. Im intreasted to see how Alves is going to comeback from the loss to GSP. Hopefully he comes back and smashes on Fitch, that is if he can stuff his take downs. We saw Fitches chin rocked in his last fight so i’m thinking that might give Alves confidence agaist Fitch. So lets say Alves wins this fight, who does he fight next? Palo Thiago? could we see a Thiago vs. Thiago match later in 2010?

Are you guys going to post the winners of the Austrailia card before it airs?

if hardy and kos both lose i would love to see hardy shut kos up for his next fight.

  • jcohl says:

I think that GSP should have insisted that he fight in Canada.
I know all about the whole “NJ/NY” thing, but I think the Canadian fans, particularly in Vancouver, would get more out of this fight than the fanpool from which the Sopranos and MTV’s Jersey Shore are drawn from…
    ;)

jcohl ouch im getting lumped in wit the sopranos and jersey shore that hurts. ur not coming to my birthday party! haha. but in all likely hood unless something happens gsp is still gonna fight in canada at the one in june so vancouver can wait. and just curious wat fight would u switch it out wit cuz this event was announced in jersey before vancouver passed there temporary bill to allow mma so wit that the jersey event stands and im just wonderin wat fights ud move around to replace gsp vs hardy.

I got Alves by knockout or tko by round 2.Fitch looked terrible against Pierce, so to me Alves should take the W.He is a complete different fighter then the first time they fought. After GSP wins the welterweight division is gonna get really entertaining with Alves, Koscheck, Daley, Hardy, Thiago and Diego Sanchez. I raeally want to see Alves vs Daley or Hardy, but yet again i want Daley and Hardy to knockout Kos lol!!

  • Rosie Perez says:

what a great card. i also think ben saunders is a nasty fight for anybody, hes got that nasty clinch of his that puts people to sleep. i didnt think swick was gonna walk through him. anyway i think martin kampmann may have his hands full.
