Mostapha Al Turk vs. Jon Madsen Booked for UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi
After being forced to withdraw from a UFC 109 matchup against Rolles Gracie earlier this week due to visa issues, Mostapha Al Turk is expected to face Jon Madsen on April 10 at UFC 112 in Abu Dhabi, Around the Octagon reports.
Al Turk (6-5) faces a must-win in the bout after dropping his UFC debut to Cheick Kongo in December 2008 before suffering a controversial TKO loss to Mikro “Cro Cop” in June to fall to 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the UFC.
Madsen (3-0), under consideration to replace Al Turk at UFC 109 before Joey Beltran was tapped for the fight, was a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 10 before making his UFC debut in December with a unanimous decision over Justin Wren to remain unbeaten.

I suppose that maybe the case can be made that someone with the name Al Turk can’t get into the US due to visa issues, but the UAE is a different story?
Or maybe its just that the later date will give Al Turk’s handlers time to straighten out the passport mess…
It really sucks when fighter has to drop out because of visa issues. Although he’s from Beirut, he’s been training in London for years. You would think that this would be evidence enough that he’s legit for a visa. I wonder if he was denied or if one of his handlers just dropped the ball. Hopefully he won’t have any issues for 112.
While I agree with your spot-on logic, you have to remember the supposed “pilots” of 9/11 lived and “trained” in the US for years prior to the despicable acts they comitted, so authorities don’t really care how long you’ve spent in an allied nation. It’s pathetic, but if you’re brown and/or have a Middle Easter name, you’ll have problems getting into the USA.
