The MMA world is still buzzing about UFC 196, and the fact that Conor McGregor’s undefeated run with the promotion has come to an end.
The featherweight champ was submitted by Nate Diaz in the second of their welterweight fight, despite the fact McGregor landed some hard shots throughout the bout. Although Diaz has fought the best-of-the best throughout his career, and at 155 and 170, he was the underdog heading into the bout.
After the loss, McGregor spoke to the UFC’s Megan Olivi, and relayed “normally when I hit a man like that they fold”. That was certainly the case until last night.
