The official press release didn’t say when Silva will make his promotional debut, but one would think, it will take place in 2017. That’s when Silva’s three year suspension with the Nevada Commission ends, after he failed to take a random drug test in 2014.
All this has happened not long after Silva retracted his accusation that the UFC had fixed fights, and after the promotion released him from his contract.
When the 39 year-old does fight, it will mark the first time he’s done so since 2013, when he took out Brian Stann.
So there you go. That’s another big name that’s been added to Bellator’s roster. Now it will be interesting to see what Silva can do at this stage of the game.
