Lightweight contenders Tyson Griffin and Evan Dunham, who both train at Xtreme Couture, have agreed to face one another at on June 12 at UFC 115 in Vancouver, according to MMAWeekly.
Though they have trained together in the past, it is expected that Dunham will find a new camp in preparation for the fight against Griffin, who will remain at Xtreme Couture.
Griffin was last in action against Hermes Franca at UFC 103 where he earned a second round TKO against the now retired veteran. He was then scheduled to face Jim Miller at UFC 108, but was forced to withdraw due to injury. He is currently riding a two fight winning streak since dropping a decision to Sean Sherk at UFC 90.
Evan Dunham extended his undefeated record to ten fights against Efrain Escudero in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 20, submitting the TUF 8 winner with an armbar in the third round. The victory over Escudero was his third fight in in the UFC. Dunham’s prior UFC victories include wins over Marcus Aurelio and Per Eklund.
UFC 115, which airs live on pay-per-view from the GM Place, is expected to be headlined by a matchup between former light heavyweight champs and TUF 11 coaches Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.
