Conor McGregor is set to face Nate Diaz now at UFC 196, but the featherweight champ apparently asked about whether the latter’s brother was available.
Diaz has been tapped as a short notice replacement for the March 5th card, after Rafael dos Anjos was forced to withdraw due to a broken foot. Recently McGregor appeared on “FOX Sports Live”, and the brash fighter relayed that he was interested in facing Nick Diaz at the upcoming card (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“I certainly did ask when Nick’s ban is up,” said McGregor. “He’s still banned so either or is good for me. Maybe somewhere down the line I’ll probably contest against both, I feel.”
Yup. A McGregor – Nick Diaz bout would be something else, but chance are, the new UFC 196 headliner will be too.
Nick Diaz is available to return to the cage this August, once his suspension for a positive test for marijuana comes to an end.
