UFC 77: Hostile Territory Official Fight Card
After several weeks of speculation about the rumored fight card, the UFC has now announced the official fight card for UFC 77 which is slated to take place on October 20, 2007 at US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio. No big surprises here, other than the fact that it’s now official.
The main event will feature a rematch between Anderson Silva and Rich Franklin in a title bout for the UFC Middleweight Champion. This should make for a great fight especially since Franklin has chosen to isolate himself to seriously focus on training for this fight.
The co-main event will mark the return of both Tim Sylvia and Brandon Vera. Sylvia has not seen any action since undergoing surgery after losing the Heavyweight belt to Randy Couture back at UFC 68. Vera makes his return to the Octagon, putting his perfect MMA record on the line after nearly a year of absence. Both fighters are known to love to stand and trade so this one should be a dandy. Expect some fireworks to go off in this bout.

i agree with u except for sylvia and vera.i think vera might shock a few people in this fight. it should a good one whichever way it goes cos they will stan up and trade i think.
I agree with all your picks James except I got Franklin over Silva. No one is giving Rich a chance. The only reason he lost the first fight is because of the Muay Thai clinch. I bet he doesnt get cuaght in it twice. Then we will see what Silva is really made of.

I think either Franklin vs. Silva or Vera vs. Sylvia will be the fight of the night. We are going to see the Franklin that annihalated the Middleweight division when entering it (after success as a light-heavweight), and we will find out if Vera is the real deal that I believe he is, or if Sylvia really wants his belt back so bad that he is trainning harder and smarter than ever. No matter what, it will be an awsome night of fights…..

I can’t believe that the Okami vs. MacDonald fight isn’t a guaranteed Main Card fight! I mean Okami was just in a Main Event fight where he fought Rich “Ace” Franklin. How does the Schafer vs. Bonnar fight get more preference by the UFC over the Okami vs. MacDonald fight? I want to see that fight with Schafer and Bonnar, but I was really looking forward to seeing Okami beat the daylights out of MacDonald via his vicious ground and pound.
That is what I was thinking. MacDonald is bad ass too. In my opinion Starnes/Belcher or the Bonner match should be moved. I really hope the matches are fast so there is PPV time left to show this fight.

Mcdonald and Okami should be shown no matter what. Just my opinion but hey! I think the swing bout is it is shown if time permits. Hopefully someone can confirm that on here for me. Should be some good fights though. I think Franklin bounces back. It should be a great fight. I agree with all of you about Sylvia and Vera. I think they are gonna bang, either could win, I think it is gonna show how good Vera is. He is good but this is a pretty tough test. Sylvia might take him down but that may be just what Vera needs!
i just heard some news that rashad and bisping will fight in ufc 78 some good news they are both undefeated sounds like a awsome fight

I think Franklin will win this fight. Thanks guys, I couldn’t beleive how most people were not giving Franklin any chance of winning. I am happy to read some of you guys think that Franklin has a chance and some of you are even picking him to win.
Franklin will come in with a fantastic game plan and this time around will not under estimate Silva. I think Franklin is too big and strong for Silva. He will come into this fight healthy and I think he might win a decision or maybe win by ground and pound. Rich Franklin will walk out with the belt after this fight is over.

How does the Starnes match get on the main card, But Okami versus MacDonald a swing match? Clearly Okami vs Macdonald is a higher profile matchup
Bonnar and Starnes, come on, did’nt Okami mop up the mat with Starnes? Anyways Franklin over Silva and The Truth over Sylvia.
