If you though Ken Shamrock was just going to toss out a ‘that’s the way the cookie crumbles’, and move on from his controversial loss to Royce Gracie, well, you were way off.
If you watched Bellator 149 on Friday, then you saw Gracie receive his second win over Shamrock, via first round stoppage. You also saw, if you didn’t immediately leave the room afterwards, a replay appearing to indicate that Shamrock took a knee to the groin.
The legend vehemently protested the stoppage afterwards, and today his team’s announced they’ve officially filed a complaint with Texas officials. According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, the statement includes:
“The contest was stopped erroneously due to Ken Shamrock’s inability to fight back or protect himself after the illegal knee to the groin. The replay of the low blow was shown several times to the fans at the Toyota Center where the contest was held. Each time it was played, the fans gasped and booed relentlessly when they witnessed the groin being kneed.”
So, it looks like Bellator 149 isn’t going to get swept under the rug just yet…
