World Extreme Cagefighting will make its anticipated pay-per-view debut in May with “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber,” which features a main event between featherweight champion Jose Aldo and former title-holder Urijah Faber.
WEC general manager Reed Harris confirmed the event in a Friday appearance on Dave and Mahoney, adding that the broadcast is likely to cost $44.99 and that an exact date and location had yet to be finalized but would be announced in the next several weeks.
Aldo (16-1) has won nine-straight, including winning the title with a second-round TKO of Mike Brown in his most-recent fight, while Faber (23-3) rebounded from a June loss to Brown with a third-round submission of Raphael Assuncao earlier this month.
Lightweight champion Ben Henderson is also rumored to potentially return to action at WEC 48.
