Carlos Condit and Rory MacDonald Agree to Fight at UFC 115
Former WEC welterweight champ Carlos Condit and up-and-coming 170-pounder Rory MacDonald have agreed to square off at UFC 115, according to reports.
Though not yet announced, UFC 115 is expected to take place on June 12 at the GM Place in Vancouver, Canada and is also rumored to feature a matchup between The Ultimate Fighter 11 coaches and former light heavyweight champions Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz.
Condit (23-5) had his eight-fight win streak snapped in a split decision loss to Martin Kampmann last April in his UFC debut, but rebounded in September with a split decision over Jake Ellenberger. The “Natural Born Killer” returns to action after recovering from a cut and subsequent infection which forced him off UFC 108 earlier this month.
MacDonald (10-0), a former King of the Cage lightweight champion, defeated Mike Guymon via first-round submission earlier this month at UFC Fight Night 20 to improve to 10-0.

This could be a really good fight. It will certainly show just how far along MacDonald is in his development.
I think it will also be a reality check of sorts for Condit.
In the WEC he was a “natural born killer” while in the UFC he’s been to date a .500 fighter.
Condit needs another good showing to keep him on the 170 radar. A loss to MacDonald is going to have people wondering whether or not he really belongs in the UFC…
Agreed, he hasn’t shown he’s a dominant fighter at all in the UFC. I like his style but he might be looking at another promotion if he loses this one.
I don’t agree with that statement at all. He lost by split decision to Kampmann and made an awesome come from behind victory against Ellenberger who is no easy fight at all. You could easily tell that from his last ko victory. Condit is about as tough as they come and I don’t see him leaving the ufc anytime soon. Just my POV
Gotta agree with jchol on this one. He comes in as WEC WW champ and loses his first fight at the big show. Then he split decision’s a less-than-impressive Ellenberger. Leads me to wodner how the little WEC guys would do against the UFC lightweights.
yep macdonald hopefuly will win this fight which should be a pretty good stepping stone for him if he can pull this one off
interesting fight indeed, maybe rory will be another big face at lightweight,or carlos will get a huge finish or a very close decision, but thats the wonderfull thing about mma anything can happen, so we will just have to wait and see.
